Message from the Chief Professor

Learn, Master, and Pass it on

Thank you for visiting our website!

Our department is proud of  the longest history as Department of Neurosurgery in Japan. We have so far more than 200 neurosurgeon alumni who have contributed to the local community, academic society and in many fields worldwide.
I am confident that patient care is the most important mission as clinical department. Indeed, we dedicate our effort to improve our surgical skill and brush up our treatment to reach the best outcome of treatment. In addition, the education for handing over our established skill to next generation is  indispensable.
However, we also have the responsibility to innovate novel treatment for unmet needs. For this purpose, basic experiments and translational research are the key to open this new horizon.
The missions of our department are wrapped up into “three verbs” as “study” “master” and “hand over”.
This website is meant to provide our missions and policies to the our friends, colleagues, student, residents and patients and their family.
We are welcome to any request and inquiry at any time.
